Very very slow in a later game time, the game freeze frequently (I am only using the 1400x900px with every graphics settings set to Low on my rMBP)! Even worse is when I am trying to save my game, it just cant finish saving, and the saved files size keep growing until my SSD is full. The hurge bad saved file cant be deleted in the game as well, I have to delete the saved file manually via Finder to free my disk space. So, to the developer: The only question here is, have you ever fully tested your game on OS X yet? Every thing seems fine on your Windows version. My suggestion to all of Mac users here is: if you really like the game, do not buy the Mac ONLY version here, the Steam version is much better because you can pay only once to get both Mac & Windows versions. If the developer have trouble in updating the Mac version, at least you still have a Windows version.

Unfortunately, the game crashes when I click ‘Play’ on my 2015 MacBook. Very disappointing.

The last 2 updates has created lots of bugs and problems. This last update made it worse and it is impossible right now to play it.

Fantastic new ideas, BUT… Incredibly unstable and slooooooooooooooooow! Every time I start a game, the whole system (OSX Lion, MBPro2011) hangs sooner or later. Sometimes after hours, sometimes after minutes. I cannot believe its Civilization - my favourite… no, formerly favourite game. Never again.

Its not ready to be played on macbook, even on my macbook 2011. They should make a patch or something because its terribly slow and after some time it usually turns off, and even hungs out my comp. Repair it or deleate from app store because its not fair that were paying for something that is not working well.

I am using the new MacBook and can’t even start the game because, alert “This games requires a minimum desktop resolution of 1024 x 768.” appears.

Often when leaders talk to you, you cant push a button, reload doesnt help either, autosave doesnt help too it loads without interface and etc. Whats wrong with you, cant you fix it all? Its like fourth addition already… Not happy!!!

Please add real retina support to the game, its not retina optimized! The interface is still "zoomed-in"

Lets get main question out of the door: YESSS, it worth the money. But, as usual, there are "some" problems: 1) Civ5 is not scalable - you can have 4/6/8/12 CPU cores, but it will use only 1-1.5 CPU cores at most => if youre Civ5 fan you ought to have THE FASTEST CPU in order to get maximum possible performance per single CPU core. THIS IS VERY BAD - developers SHOULD pay attention to this deficiency; 2) Civ5 for OSX is slow with GPUs - I tried it on GTX285, ATI6770, GTX680 - with little variations it is reallty slow when set to highest graphics settings; 3) Related to #1 - as game progresses, it takes more and more time to complete AI moves - again, multiple CPU cores seeem to have ZERO efect on this calcs. VERY FRUSTRATING. So, while its a greate game, there are certain cave-eats you have to live with - be prepared, patient, and you will be rewarded for being humble in your expectations ;-)

A must! Only one weakness: it is a drug!

The game is great. Runs well on my late 2013 MacBook Air on default/low settings. Perhaps a bit too demanding on the go since it kicks my fan on and drains power, but it’ll play fine. If you are thinking about buying it, do it.

I am a CIV5 big time fan. Downloaded the game and it works perfectly. Doesnt connect to my brother’s MAC as much as we tried. However, i noticed some in-app purchase that look awesome, can’t find a way - everytime i highlight my pointer on the in-app packages (no highlight occurs). Tried many other ways, didnt work. This is a great game, love it! However, I would not buy this on the Apple Store as multiplayer only works on your LAN (Local Area Network). If you want to play online you should just buy the game on Steam. Even if you buy this game on the App Store, you cannot use the license to activate multiplayer function on steam. The App Store requires a bunch of security nonsense that does not allow the utilization of Steam as a multiplayer client. So BUY ON STEAM, NOT APP STORE if you want to play online with your friends.
