Running this on a 2011 2.7 GHz 8gb OS X 10.8.5 and it crashes every ten minutes. Do not get this game until Aspyr comes out with a patch for this, releases a statement about the crashes, etc. Very frustrating.

- If you are a CIV Fan then this is a must have. - It has changed a few fundamentals for the better, and made some interesting gameplay changes as well. - Replayability Is very high, especially if you pick up some DLC ( Which I’ll admit is a bit pricy) But if you can swallow the price tag it is worth it in the end. - The crashing I read about has never happened to me, I’m running a base model 2011 iMac running Mavericks, It runs this game smoothly. I’ve also played a game or two on my 2013 macbook air which I haven’t had any issues with either.
one of the best games i have ever played
how do i play it through steam wont work through add game
Love the game, definite must have for any Civ fan (much better than civ revolution).... But I dont notice any differences with v1.3.6. Still, 5 stars and as addictive as ever.
I have played so many hours on this game. It’s amazing!
The game is just amazing. It carries all the intuitive and strategic parts that a world game requires. Although if you play from stone age it gets a bit slow and time consuming, but once you have a hold.. its awesome. Multiplayer option works like a charm without any lag. A recommended buy for those you like strategic games and wanna win the world ( either by hook or crook :P ).. PS: Try harder levels, its fun..
This is one of the best games you could buy for your Mac. I would highly recommend this game to any person looking for a great strategy game. It would be a 5 star game if there was Muti-player some of my frfriends have it and i’d love to be able to game with them. other then that its a 100% buy. Really hope an online and Multi-player up-date comes out and soon.
I have had several campaigns freeze to the point that my computer ether shuts down or I have to reboot it. This usually occurs later in the game once my civilization has become more advance, and the game has to process more than a simple starting group. I love this game but since I am unable to play it to completion I have to give it a low rank until this problem is fixed.
I’ve always been a big fan ever since first discovering Civilization IV, and have played for years on end. The App version of this game is every bit as good as the PC version I bought for windows. This is money well spent.
This game used to be awesome for me. However I seem to have lost the city-states. I’ve gone through the options, started numerous games and still, they won’t show up in the game. The game even goes through the motions of performing the city-state moves, says it is on screen, but I’ve uncovered entire maps without seeing a city-state! Of course I’ve uninstalled and re-installed, nothing.
Start of the game was fine, but i’m now 50-60 turns into the game and when I turn it on, 10 sec later the game starts to rev up and it consumes 100- 150 of my cpu and CRASHES. and I mean like I can’t do anythin but a HARD SHUT DOWN (turn off the whole computer). Fix this please
The Game itself is Amzing, but unfortuanantly it tends to crash once your civilization is more advanced. Very, Very fun game, if you enjoy strategy games, but the crashes make it unplayable for longer sessions.
Game boots in touchscreen mode for me and I cannot disable the touchscreen option. I have a MBP
its a real addictive game it gets you into it and hours go by when you are playing this game
No lag at all
This game I have come back to year after year. Such a great game full of so much depth. It can be different every time you play. Not many games can hold my interest for so many years. Awesome.
Ilove this game so mush
This is a turn based strategy game, not a real time strategy game. IF YOU ARE NOT A FAN OF THE TURN BASED GENRE DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! But for people like me. I love turn based strategy games. I have a Mid-2012 MacBook Pro 13” Retina Display and the game has never crashed or unexpectedly quit (I’ve put over 24 hours of playtime into this game) There are some flaws and the game could have a better tutorial but overall this is a fun game. This is not for the casual gamer who plays for 30 minutes a day. Even if the game pace is on quick it still takes about 4-8 hours to get to the futuristic era. If you’ve come from Civilization IV Expect some major changes. If you want to buy the DLCs just wait till’ Christmas. Last Christmas I got the game for 5 Bucks. The DLC’s Cost the same.
I would not describe myself as a hardcore computer gamer, but this game is unreal and I find myself playing it for hours and hours. My brother has never played it and picked it up and was hooked for hours. Extremely deep and involved, there a couple of key strokes that will save your hands if you are playing a lap top. I have not had it skip or freeze and I have had a few civilizations way past 200 turns and very deep into the game. However
